I wasn't too hot on "Wuthering Heights" either, but that's because I didn't care for any of the characters.

I really, really need to get around to reading "Lonesome Dove." It keeps popping up on my radar, which means that I'll probably be making an emergency trip to the bookstore very soon.
= ) Great post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710818943922563736.post-46834480644592102662009-02-03T10:28:00.000-05:002009-02-03T10:28:00.000-05:00Oh how I despise "Moby Dick." Love...I'm the same as you with the love/hate thing. Loved Wuthering Heights, haven't even been able to finish any Austen. Loved Of Mice and Men and The Pearl, hated The Red Pony. Loved The Scarlet Letter, despised with a passion Babbitt. The only Dickens I've ever read is A Christmas Carol...my husband so hated Great Expectations that he's sort of soured me from even trying any others. (Which I can live with, seeing how there's only 48 billion other books out there that I actually want to read.) But you know, I actually liked Lord of the Flies when I had to read in 8th grade.Debihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15429881953804634592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710818943922563736.post-39110708791730287692009-02-02T18:13:00.000-05:002009-02-02T18:13:00.000-05:00I gave you a blog award!http://amazingadulthoodofa...I gave you a blog award!

http://amazingadulthoodofalexis.blogspot.com/2009/02/mailbox-monday-and-award.htmlLexihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06867226903227387373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710818943922563736.post-44867670794238406002009-01-30T07:46:00.000-05:002009-01-30T07:46:00.000-05:00I agree with most of your "likes", but disagree wi...I agree with most of your "likes", but disagree with a couple of your "dislikes". I loved "Of Human Bondage", but wholeheartedly agree with you on "The Red Badge of Courage" (which I've yet to get through...). I've never heard of "The Road Back", but I'll be certain to check it out now (I rather liked "All Quiet on the Western Front"). As for the classics debate, it's one that people will try to figure out, but just discover again that there's just no single answer.Meytal Radzinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15805413335735169073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1710818943922563736.post-92126710241776664072009-01-30T04:47:00.000-05:002009-01-30T04:47:00.000-05:00I'm so glad someone else feels the same way about ...I'm so glad someone else feels the same way about dickens!
